¡Bienvenidos!
Welcome to this new school year! As every year, I will try my best to have your child learn the Spanish language in a coherent and practical way. My lessons are designed to give a nurturing atmosphere, requiring from students positive attitude and willingness to do their best.
As it is known, the learning process of a child requires different factors that when coming together, optimize the student's learning experience. I cannot alone teach your child my subject; I am counting on your assistance to make things happen! My rule of basic proportion on how we all come together is as follows:
· 50% Teacher Effort: I will be ready to teach your child with an enriching lesson. My approach will be positive, encouraging, and respectful. I will assign homework that will follow coherently what is being instructed during class period. Also, I will update your child’s grades on IMPACT as often as possible, so you have a feel on how he/she is doing during each quarter.
· 25% Student Effort: Students will bring to the classroom a positive attitude, an open mind, and will to engage in all required activities designed for maximum gain. Also, students are required to bring all required materials to class period every time Spanish is scheduled.
· 25% Parent Effort: Parents will make sure that child comes to class motivated to learn. Parents are also asked to make sure that all required materials are provided to their child and brought to school. In addition, parents will verify assigned homework and will inquire their children basic information on lessons that are taking place at school. Furthermore, I always request parents verify their child’s grades as often as possible on IMPACT. Because of the large amount of student I have between 5th through 8th grades, it becomes quite challenging to write specific emails or engage in phone calls to let all of you know how your child may be performing in my subject. If you do not have access, contact Mrs. Robinson, our Assistant Principal in order to get your username and password.
Please, navigate through this website and find your child grade. There, you will find any documents that your child receives (in case it is misplaced). Also, I will do my best to upload any vocabulary lists covered in class in order for you to assist him during the school year - Don’t worry! I will set up these lists in Spanish and English, just in case you are not proficient in my language.
Please, feel free to contact me any time with any questions you may have. You will find a contact tab at the top of this introductory page.
Hope we have a very productive school year.
Best wishes,
Alejandro Alvizuri
